Well, I guess this is growing up.

January 24, 2016 by Halbs 2 Comments

A couple weeks ago, I reviewed Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. I loved the book because it perfectly captured the awe and sweetness and excitement and heartbreak of growing up. Jenny Han wrote a sequel to that book called P.S. I Still Love You, which I’m reviewing here. It picks up pretty much right where TATBILB ends, so I will do my best to refrain from any specific details or spoilers. Suffice it to say, you shouldn’t read this one without […]

She calls it Mr. Pointy

January 22, 2016 by kdm 2 Comments

So I’ve been hearing about the Throne of Glass series all over the place, and decided to give it a shot.  Naturally, I assumed that I should start with the prequel novellas, because chronology and stuff.  Whoops.  The internet tells me that I’m wrong, and I should have read the first 2 novels, then gone back to the prequels, because apparently everyone is still really into this whole Machete Order thing.  Regardless, it’s too late, so I’m just going to go ahead and review the […]

I wish I had known teen assassin was a career option

My reasons for loving the Cannonball Read are legion. One of them is finding new books, series, and authors. Baxlala reviewed Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorn and Roses and mentioned that Maas had another series that was further along. I checked out Amazon and ended up buying Throne of Glass mostly because it was cheap (I am poor). I love a good YA book and really appreciate that the genre has so many awesome female protagonists. I enjoyed Throne of Glass tremendously. We […]

In which our heroine changes everything

January 19, 2016 by KatSings Leave a Comment

Queen of Shadows – Reviewed on KatsCannon “She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.” I have completely failed to review any of this brilliant series on this blog. You’ll have to search this website to find some other reviews. Suffice it to say that while I will not discuss major spoilers from this volume here (or will properly hide them […]
