“‘I just want to break that song into pieces,’ she said, ‘and love them all to death.'”

Eleanor & Park is a book that’s been rightfully reviewed on this site before. It’s a book about first love, first heartbreak, family, and the people that you find that make everything better. I’ve actually read this book before, when it first came out, but last week a friend of mine read it for the first time and I was inspired to read through it again. March 25, 2014 by ModernLove Leave a Comment

School is really getting in the way of my reading and reviewing. Who needs an education anyway? Onto the good stuff! The Firey Heart is the 4th book in Richelle Meade’s Bloodlines series, which is a spin-off from the 6-book Vampire Academy series. I’ve been reading these since the first VA book came out about seven years ago, and I’ll be dammed if I stop reading them now. I have a horrible compulsion to see these things through, no matter how terrible the series gets. I have […]

The Impossible Knife of Memory

January 30, 2014 by ModernLove Leave a Comment

Laurie Halse Anderson is probably the reason I became an adult YA fiction lover. I took a class in YA Lit in college and her book,
