DNF at 10 Percent

Written in Red by Annie Bishop

June 21, 2019 by Classic 2 Comments

Look I tried. I could not get into this. Life is too short for books you are not enjoying. I ended up DNFing “Written in Red” the first book in the Others series at 10 percent because nothing I was reading was holding my interest. We have a prologue setting up the setting of the book and now we are just following a young girl on the run named Meg. We find out that Meg is trying to garner help from “The Others.” dun dun […]

I’M ALIIIIIIIIIIIIVE

June 30, 2016 by narfna 14 Comments

I have been trying to write this review for over a month. Their world is a world where humans are seen as little more than meat. That is, until Meg, a blood prophet on the run from her captors, finds herself suddenly wrapped up in their lives and under their protection. In […]

Written in Red, by Anne Bishop

April 29, 2014 by Vylotte 2 Comments

Humans and Others have long held an uneasy truce. Most of the wild places are Other controlled, but humans have persevered and cities have grown. As part of the truce, and to stay close to the human innovations they have come to appreciate, the Others are given a “courtyard” in most cities, where they live by their laws and unwanted trespassers are usually listed as “special meat” the next morning at the butcher shop.  On a stormy winter night, Meg arrives freezing and scared, and […]
