And So It Begins

What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris

July 4, 2019 by Malin Leave a Comment

#CBR11 Book Bingo: And So It Begins From Goodreads, because it’s nearly three months since I finished this baby: It’s 1811, and the threat of revolution haunts the upper classes of King George III’s England. Then a beautiful young woman is found raped and savagely murdered on the altar steps of an ancient church near Westminster Abbey. A dueling pistol discovered at the scene and the damning testimony of a witness both point to one man, Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, a brilliant young nobleman […]

More action hero-y than your usual Regency stuff

December 5, 2018 by Bothari43 Leave a Comment

This is a fairly fluffy (but not to the level of ‘cozy,’ I don’t think) mystery, the first in a series and a pretty good set-up for more. Rachel York, an actress in 1800s London is brutally murdered, one of Sebastian St. Cyr’s dueling pistols is found on the scene, and “St. Cyr” is written in Rachel’s daily planner for the evening she died. Sebastian, a war vet and local nobleman, decides that rather than let himself be arrested, it’s better to steal a carriage, […]

A Murder Mystery Set at the Beginning of the Regency

May 14, 2018 by Jen K Leave a Comment

After Sebastian St. Cyr is arrested for a murder he didn’t commit, and blamed for another potential death, he escapes from custody, and decides the only way to not be executed for murder or spend his life on the run is to clear his name by investigating the murder himself.  Fortunately, he worked in intelligence during his time in the Army while fighting Napoleon, so he has skill set that actually comes in handy for this type of investigation. It is 1811, and the murder […]

Where I Join Everyone Else in Discovering C.S. Harris

November 3, 2017 by lumenatrix 3 Comments

Alright, so I completely forgot to review this book when I read it, so you’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little fuzzy on some of the details at this point. I sort of stumbled on this book and thought it was some sort of new, unknown author or something because I had never heard of him. Turns out, I really just live under a rock or something because everyone in the world knows C.S. Harris aside from me. That is really neither here […]
