The tiny blonde one is growing up and progressing as a detective

February 19, 2015 by Malin 1 Comment

Disclaimer! I was given an ARC of this through NetGalley in return for a fair and unbiased review. Readers should be aware that this is the second book of Veronica Mars mysteries. Readers should probably watch the movie (it’s on Netflix) and read the first book before reading this. If you’re not caught up, there will be spoilers in the review below. Veronica Mars is hired by the insurance agents for the Neptune Grand, to prove that one of the hotel’s staff members didn’t assault […]

It might involve ponies.

Mr. Kiss and Tell is the second of two books contracted after the Kickstarted movie in 2014. Both books have done a great job taking the Veronica Mars world, escalating it, and translating it to the medium of books. I also really like what they’re doing with Veronica’s character (and the other characters). They’re allowing them to grow and change. These characters haven’t just been held in stasis in the nine years that have elapsed since the third season of the TV show ended. This […]

“Annoy, tiny blonde one. Annoy like the wind.”

January 31, 2015 by bonnie 6 Comments

You Cannonballers know how much I love me some Veronica Mars. I love the TV series, the film, and the first book, which I reviewed for CBR6. I have eagerly awaited the arrival of the second book, and it finally showed up at my library! I tore into it and devoured it in a large gulp this afternoon. Mr. Kiss and Tell picks up a few months after The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line, where Weevil is awaiting the results of his criminal trial, and Veronica is […]

“Actually you have a problem with Veronica, you’re pretty much dead to me so just like evaporate or something, I don’t know”

September 14, 2014 by NTE 2 Comments

We last left Veronica Mars back in her hometown of Neptune, California, following (Spoilers for the VM movie) a case that involved her on again/off again/epic love interest Logan Echolls, a high school reunion for the ages, and some people with a grudge against her dad. Since that adventure, Veronica has decided to stay & work at Mars Investigations, but the beginning of The Thousand Dollar Tan Line finds that Spring Break in Neptune is not exactly old-home week. There’s a distinct lack of casework […]

Veronica Mars, I’m watching you

August 7, 2014 by scootsa1000 Leave a Comment

In the summer of 2004, I found myself at home on maternity leave with a newborn baby and a lot of sleepless nights. After I went through my entire Tivo’d cache of The Issac Mizrahi Show (seriously, the best talk show ever. I mourn it every day.), I was dying for new TV to watch. And I was rescued by my friend Amy, a tv critic, who had a pile of DVD screeners for the upcoming fall TV season that she was finished with. I […]

There weren’t many people in this world who would let you be vulnerable and still believe you were strong

I finished this book almost a week ago but have been so busy that sitting down to write the review has been pushed off each day’s to do list. But, I am finally carving out some time to talk to you about a tiny blonde detective and her continuing adventures in Neptune, California. I only joined the Veronica Mars bandwagon two years ago. I was just outside its viewing demographics when it originally aired. But, because I am not always dumb, I listened to my […]
