A beautiful Marilyn biography

August 2, 2017 by Beth Ellen 3 Comments

Full disclosure I received this from fellow Cannonballer Xoxoxoe as she frickin’ wrote/drew this. How cool is that?! All thoughts and opinions though are my own, but I’ll start with this one is definitely staying on my bookshelf. There’s not much to plot here, it’s a biography of Marilyn Monroe. Xoxoxoe’s Wonderful Graphic Novel

July 7, 2017 by Caitlin_D 4 Comments

Disclaimer: I received a copy of Unfinished through a CBR giveaway in return for a prompt and honest review. First of all, I unabashedly love Marilyn Monroe. While this makes me a prime candidate for anything involving the ’50s sexpot I am not usually a big fan of graphic novels. I tend to want more information than the format allows but Unfinished is vibrant & beautiful without sacrificing details. Elizabeth Periale, our own xoxoxoe, combines well researched facts and quotes with inferred internalized dialog and colorful illustrations. The structure […]
