Cover of Timothy Janovsky’s Once Upon Ypu and Me

The flavor of cabernet sauvignon had only ever been just okay until Ethan tasted it on Taylor Frost’s lips.

Once Upon You and Me by Timothy Janovsky

April 25, 2025 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Timothy Janovsky has become one of my most anticipated authors. His book The Merriest Misters is one of my favorite romances. Once Upon You and Me is not quite at that level, but I enjoyed it. It has Janovsky’s charm and excellent storytelling. Ethan is a divorced dad managing Storybook Endings Resort, the fairytale themed family resort in the Catskills that he used to own with his ex-wife, Amy. Taylor is Amy’s personal assistant, who has come to the resort to get it ready for […]

Quinn, I’m serious. I think I killed a man. I think I killed…Santa.

The Merriest Misters by Timothy Janovsky

October 16, 2024 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Quinn and Patrick are about to celebrate their first Christmas as husband and husband, and the way things are going, it might also be their last. They are stretched financially paying for a house they don’t like that needs a lot of repairs, Patrick offered to host Christmas without checking with Quinn, and they aren’t communicating. Things look grim when Patrick mistakes Santa for a burglar and smacks him with a frying pan, twice. Now Patrick and Quinn have to save this Christmas and next […]

We’d missed the notification as we jazzed up our dark purple Madcap Market crewnecks using fabric scissors, some thread, a bit of glitter, and a ton of gay willpower.

The (Fake) Dating Game by Timothy Janovsky

January 5, 2024 by Emmalita 2 Comments

I read my first Timothy Janovsky back in June, and now The (Fake) Dating Game is my fourth. With each book, he gets better and more assured. I really liked Never Been Kissed, though I could see where the plot could use some tightening and tuning. New Adult was one of my favorite reads last year (though it somehow got left off my list?), so I have been excited about diving into this one. Furthermore, this might be one of my favorite fake dating romances of all […]

A Smattering of Smut

11 Hours by Octavia Jensen

Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky

Beautiful Sinner by Sara Cate

November 6, 2023 by RevGirlUtena Leave a Comment

I’ve read a bunch of books since May that were more smut than plot, so here’s a series of mini-reviews in the order I read them: 11 Hours by Octavia Jensen Briella is a paralegal in a fancy-schmancy law firm. She has an absolute hate/hate relationship with Harrison, one of the firm’s attorneys. One day, while everyone else is at the holiday party, they are working late and get stuck in an elevator together. For ELEVEN HOURS. Which is cuckoo-bananas. What kind of building doesn’t […]

Just so…..boring

Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky

September 16, 2023 by carmelpie Leave a Comment

It’s nice to hear him so self-aware. To know that the seismic waves of coming out are still rippling through him too. I thought I was alone in that. Everyone makes it seem like coming out is crossing the finish line and now you just get to parade around while wearing your medal. For me, it feels more like I’m still winded midmarathon. ― Timothy Janovsky, Never Been Kissed Wren Roland wants his first kiss to be special. After a few near-misses, he wonders if […]

CBR15 Bingo: Hold Steady (my first actual Bingo!)

Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovski

September 2, 2023 by Malin Leave a Comment

CBR15 Bingo: Hold Steady (Wren is in quite a rut at the start of the book) Official book description: Wren Roland has never been kissed, but he wants that movie-perfect ending more than anything. Feeling nostalgic on the eve of his birthday, he sends emails to all the boys he (ahem) loved before he came out. Morning brings the inevitable Oh God What Did I Do?, but he brushes that panic aside. Why stress about it? None of his could-have-beens are actually going to read […]
