A Steamy Novella that Also Made Me Hungry

Tikka Chance on Me by Suleikha Snyder

The Pandemic has stolen my ability to focus on long form works, so I went trolling through my digital library to see what I had available in the novella length, thankfully for me at some point I had downloaded Suleikha Snyder’s Tikka Chance on Me. Perfect. I *loved* the first part of this novella. Pinky Grover is a fantastic lead – she’s a feisty, sex-positive Desi heroine that could carry a much larger work on her character’s shoulders. Snyder introduces us via Pinky to Trucker […]

Courting with samosas and hot parking lot truck sex.

For the first half of this book, I was so charmed I was a hair-trigger away from giving this novella five stars. It lessened in its charm in the second half, but overall I still really liked it. The set-up here is really fun, and the tone of it reflects that fun. Pinky works at her parent’s Indian restaurant, and she has been enjoying lusting from afar one of her customers, Trucker, who is unfortunately part of a biker gang. Trucker is also lusting after […]

Really made me crave some butter chicken

Tikka Chance on Me by Suleikha Snyder

4.5 stars This novella was exactly what I needed in the stressful weeks starting the new year, when I’m massively behind on my work (thanks, ill-timed Christmas illness), still fighting a horrible cough and cold (at this stage, I’m not entirely sure I’m not suffering from a new cold that I caught on the heels of the first one). I have so many mediocre English essays left to grade, with the deadline of the 12th of January (when all the grades for term 1 have […]

He looked like heroism and hedonism’s beautiful bastard.

I was scrolling through Twitter one day last week and happened on an author (@mel_thegreat) live tweeting her read of a romance novella by Suleikha Snyder (@suleikhasnyder), another romance writer I follow. I follow a lot of authors on twitter, and a large subset of those authors write romance. They are delightful. But back to the thread. I had seen the book advertised on Amazon for $.99, but hadn’t been motivated enough to buy it. Mel’s enthusiasm for the book and the bits of language she tweeted convinced me to go get it.
