The telepathic dog is still the best part.

Hexed (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne

March 18, 2019 by narfna Leave a Comment

I bought the first six books of this series several years ago in paperback, but I wish I hadn’t. I think if I read this by audio instead of hard copy, I would have enjoyed it more. (I really enjoyed my audio re-read of the first book a couple of months ago. Luke Daniels is one of my favorite narrators.) But I feel like it would be wasting all that money I spent, so I’m committed to do hard copies at least through book six. […]

A 2,100 year old Druid and his talking dog Oberon do some magic and stuff.

This was a re-read for me, and I still liked it! I probably would have been okay just going into book two without a re-read and forcing my brain to delve buried memories from chasms deep or whatever, but this was a fast read and I think it was worth it. Lots of little details I know I wouldn’t have remembered, like people’s names, and entire plots . . . I mean, it’s been over four and a half years since I read it the […]

His neighbours and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old, when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: he draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields […]

If for nothing else, read this for Oberon, the talking Irish Wolfhound.

NB: I received a promotional copy of this book  from the Goodreads First Reads program, but it has not affected the content of my review. I’d been wanting to try this series for a while now, for a bunch of reasons: the author is local (books aren’t often set in places I know and recognize, and it’s exciting!), a bunch of people whose opinions I respect love it, and after finally finishing the Dresden Files last year, I was in need of another long urban […]
