Love Her or Lose Her by Tessa Bailey

September 11, 2023 by Sophia Leave a Comment

I’m pretty sure I picked up Love Her or Lose Her (2020) by Tessa Bailey because I needed another audiobook for my work commute. I’ve always thought romances were easy to follow, even with driving distractions. And Love Her or Lose Her looked interesting. I found out after I finished, that this is Book 2 of 3 of the “hot and hammered” series. I’m not sure I was looking for “hot and hammered,” but it does explain all of the sex. Sometimes, this book teetered on the edge […]

CBR15 Bingo: Relation”ship”

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

September 10, 2023 by Malin 15 Comments

CBR15 Bingo: Relation”ship” (A book about sisterly love, romantic love and featuring large fishing boats) Apparently, our heroine, Piper Bellinger, is strongly inspired by Alexis Rose in Schitt’s Creek, Tessa Bailey wanted her to have her own happy ending. First of all, I’m not really sure I think Alexis was too badly off at the end of the show, just because she wasn’t shacked up with a man. Her ending seemed perfectly happy to me – not all HEAs need to involve a romantic partner. […]

Sexy Sexy Murder

My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey

May 10, 2023 by RevGirlUtena 1 Comment

Tessa Bailey can write some top-tier smut! I enjoyed the Hell out of It Happened One Summer and Hook, Line, and Sinker. I am also a huge fan of crime and murder mysteries. I actually have a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Not that I am actually using it professionally. I do like to tell people that I have a degree in Forensics and a lake behind my house, so don’t piss me off, but I digress. So when I saw that Tessa Bailey was […]

romance novel jobs are hilarious to me

Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey

May 29, 2022 by wicherwill Leave a Comment

So here we have the follow up to the Alexis-from-Schitt’s-Creek fanfic It Happened One Summer that I had somewhat similar feelings for–aka, there is a bunch to like but a bunch to also see coming from a mile off that I disliked. Was it immediately obvious that this book was going to be about her sister and the dashing Fox? Yes, of course, but a book wouldn’t be the start of an expanded universe if there wasn’t a steady stream of ancillary secondary characters to expand outwards. […]

They were way too immature to turn down a shot at those bragging rights

Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey

September 5, 2020 by Emmalita 4 Comments

When I requested Tools of Engagement on NetGalley I didn’t realize it was a third book in a series. I received the arc early enough that I felt like I could read the first two books and get this one read and reviewed before publication. The problem was, I hated the first book so much I dnf’d it at 40%. That made me reluctant to read the next book and eventually, I just had to skip it and read this one. I liked it much more […]

Whatever

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey

August 8, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

Seriously the most insipid characters I have read in a romance novel in some time. I loathed the heroine who just needed to get any type of life, hated her sister in law who was a nasty piece of work to her husband, and thought the hero was lame. There’s also a women’s only league that the heroine starts and I ended up disliking every damn woman that popped up in this book after that. “Fix Her Up” follows former baseball star and now wash-up […]
