This is the first installment in Laurie R. King’s series retelling of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. This book.  Man, this book is exactly what I needed this past insanely crappy week.  It’s a 4.5 star book, but I needed it so much I can’t give it anything less than a 5 right now.  This is the first in a trilogy about Charlotte Holmes, a self-styled private investigator in Victorian London.  It is fabulous.  I adore the original Sherlock Holmes stories.  They helped get me through a summer of studying for the Bar Exam.  I was so obsessed that during my lunch […]
