A bit like Sound of Music, but there are no nazis and the couple is queer

It Takes Two to Tumble by Cat Sebastian

December 24, 2023 by Malin Leave a Comment

Captain Philip Dacre believes in total order and discipline and knows that everyone on his ship will listen to and obey his every word. He hasn’t been home for several years and has trusted his sister, as well as a series of tutors and governesses to take care of his children. He’s due a few month’s leave and the latest letter from his sister suggests that things are getting pretty dire with his offspring. Ben Sedgwick enjoys his life as a quiet country vicar. He’s […]

This was so cozy and comforting and lovely.

Two Rogues Make a Right (Seducing the Sedgwicks, #3) by Cat Sebastian

If you’re looking for a plot- or angst- or action-heavy romance, this won’t satisfy you, but if you’re looking for something slow and sweet, where two lifelong friends slowly come together while one nurses the other back to health, than this is your book. Martin and Will have been best friends since childhood. Will grew up slightly neglected in a rather bohemian household that was falling into ruin. Martin’s father was a first class asshole, who also turned out to be an abuser (see the […]

“You’ve already made tea? Is this what I get for successfully fondling you?”

Two Rogues Make a Right (Seducing the Sedgewicks 3) by Cat Sebastian

Every time I read Cat Sebastian, I wonder why it is I haven’t devoured her entire back catalog? She’s a brilliant writer. Her stories make me feel like I’ve been snuggled on the world’s most comfortable couch. Two Rogues Make a Right is the third book in a series. You can read it as a stand alone. In the previous book, A Gentleman Never Keeps Score, Martin Easterbrook is an antagonist to Will Sedgwick’s brother. However, I didn’t remember much about that part of the plot (much […]

Double cannonball with a kissing book.

August 28, 2018 by narfna 10 Comments

Cat Sebastian is now six for six. Not a stinker among her published books so far (though to be fair, I haven’t *loved* all of them (Unmasked by the Marquess was fun, but didn’t hit me in my swooners). A Gentleman Never Keeps Score, though saddled with a truly execrable cover*, features more of what I love about her books: two fully realized leads who have good chemistry, and who are kept apart not by asinine plot machinations and outside forces, but by character flaws […]

“He couldn’t be serious and stern with a man who had ducklings in his hair.”

December 30, 2017 by narfna 6 Comments

I am basically trash for this author now. I have pre-ordered her m/f Regency romance that is out in April, so hopefully she’s just as good on that as she is with m/m. Fair warning, the next book in this series isn’t out until July and that is 1,000 years away. Also, this cover isn’t that bad (characters are way overdressed, and one should def be dressed like a vicar because come on, but it’s not ugly), and neither are the last two in her first series, […]
