The Snowy Nap is very classic Jan Brett. You will either LOVE IT or will be “This is okay.” There is little to no “middle ground” to the liking or disliking of the book. What do you do with a girl like Akaraka?

A Kiss For Akaraka is actually a 4.5. This is due to the fact that the only real complaint I have is the name of the character is a little hard to pronounce (even with the father helping, it does not happen until the middle of the story).  However, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the illustrations of E.B. Sun is a comfortable book that deals with the generations of grandfather and grandchild, patience and imagination. Sam Usher has continued his Seasons with Granddad Series Storm, Rain and Snow with Sun. These stories have a lot of color that represents their season.
