A non-binary Regency romance.

April 27, 2018 by narfna Leave a Comment

Okay, so even if this is the first book of hers that hasn’t made me drool with unbridled enthusiasm, I still really enjoyed it, and it’s clear to me that Cat Sebastian is going to continue to publish books that I will enjoy reading. I think maybe I was just expecting a lot more from this than it was capable of giving? I don’t know. It’s also the first non M/M book of hers I read, but I don’t think that’s why I didn’t enjoy […]

Read this for the awesome heroine.

I have mixed feelings about this one. It’s looking like Alyssa Cole is going to be a hit or miss author for me. I didn’t fully enjoy An Extraordinary Union for the same reasons I didn’t fully enjoy this one, I think, but I loved A Hope Divided. So I will keep reading her stuff and just know that going in the chemistry between her leads doesn’t always work for me. Really, I didn’t NOT like this book, it just didn’t work the way it was […]

Do we really like brooding Marines? Really?

April 24, 2018 by RaePercy 3 Comments

There will be spoilers in this review because there has to be. A blow by blow account of the book; though often frowned upon in reviews, is needed in this one. Once upon a time a screenshot was posted of the synopsis for this book. It was bad and in a very strange twist it was the badness that drew me in. Imagine my joy when the book showed up on Kindle Unlimited. The synopsis wouldn’t draw anyone in with it’s attempt at drama, and […]

I didn’t expect to like this so much!

April 20, 2018 by narfna 13 Comments

I’m so close to giving this five stars. I’m honestly not sure what’s holding me back. I had such a fun time reading this book! I borrowed the e-book version from my library and read it in a browser, and now I’m upset that all my bookmarks are going to go away. I never bookmark pages in a romance! (Okay, well, I never bookmark pages in a romance because I like the prose. I quite frequently bookmark the sexy parts for future reference.) But dangit, […]

This series makes for an excellent book binge.

I almost feel like I don’t want to write a review of this book, just maybe sit with it a while, scroll through and read some of my favorite parts again. But in short, I really liked it and it’s a more than worthy trilogy ender. Even with the lackluster first book, I would still recommend this series, but you definitely need to read all of them, as the central plot would be pretty confusing if you didn’t. This book wraps up the plot started […]

This book is yes.

This was FUN. I liked the first one, but it was missing something for me. This one, perhaps because its central characters weren’t so quiet and unassuming, intrigued me right away and didn’t let up. Nathaniel Roy is a crusading journalist who is determined to expose the secrets of two big name spiritualists currently practicing in London. He sees what they do as an abomination, taking advantage of naïve and grieving people’s trust and pain, and making money off of it. Nathaniel is also sensitive […]
