A Contemporary Marriage of Convenience Romance

Xeni: A Marriage of Inconvenience (Loose Ends Book 2) by Rebekah Weatherspoon

October 19, 2019 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Xeni is grieving the death of her Aunt Sable. At her aunt’s request, she has traveled from her home in Los Angeles to upstate New York to scatter her aunt’s ashes, clear out her house and attend the reading of the will. At the scattering of the ashes ceremony, a large Scotsman in a kilt shows up to play bagpipes. At the reading of the will, the same Scotsman shows up (sans bagpipes). Her aunt drops three bombs on Xeni, one I won’t share because […]

My personal tastes just didn’t gel with this one :(

Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny by Rebekah Weatherspoon

October 8, 2019 by narfna Leave a Comment

So I’m not mad I read this or anything, and I think for the right person, this book would be super enjoyable, but a couple of things just kept pulling me out. But before I get into what I didn’t like, I just want to say how much I admire this book’s title. Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny is exactly what you would want it to be. He’s buff. He’s a male nanny. He’s also kind, good with kids, extremely good in bed, and loyal […]

I’m Taking Off A Star For the Title

November 30, 2018 by Emmalita 4 Comments

I really hate the title. If I hadn’t read FyreHaar’s review, I would never have touched a book called RAFE: A Buff Male Nanny. It sounds like bad porn that’s trying to have a plot. It’s actually a pretty sweet contemporary romance. I follow Rebekah Weatherspoon on twitter and find her to be sharp, smart and funny. I was looking for a reason to try one of her books, but I wasn’t feeling enthusiastic about the titles. I recognize this as a me problem, however it’s […]

Just what I needed

November 14, 2018 by FyreHaar 2 Comments

Y’all, it’s been a motherfucker of a year. I need comfort and this book is it. Rebekah Weatherspoon is at the top of my must-buy list. She writes fun, satisfying romance with diversity of race, body type, sexuality, gender, it’s an intersectional love fest with her and I am here for it. In Rafe we have, well, Rafe! The Buff Male Nanny. He’s red headed, bearded, tattooed, and his masculinity is non-toxic. He’s just left his latest nanny gig when then family he works for […]

So Excellent! – CBR 8 – Review #2

December 22, 2016 by FyreHaar 1 Comment

This review covers three romance novellas that read as one larger story – So Sweet, So Good, & So For Real. Rebekah Weatherspoon has been a Must Read author for me since I read the Fit Trilogy last year. So For Real, the final installment in this series, came out a couple of weeks ago and I snapped it right up. Our MC is Kayla Davis – a thick, black, bisexual woman who has just been laid off from her job. Her roommate, Adler, convinces […]
