An unintentional Mercy Thompson reading binge.

Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs

August 1, 2022 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

CBR Bingo: Series I usually take my time with my urban fantasy series. I like to savor them and read a few worlds at a time. To not let the reviews pile up (again), I usually read one or two books in a row. Not this go round. I’ve read five in a row for the OG Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I’ve also fallen in love with the first three books in the spin-off Alpha & Omega series. Once I got going, it […]

Fae trouble for Mercy Thompson

Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs

River Marked by Patricia Briggs

December 30, 2021 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

After reviewing Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series last year, I  have come back for more with CBR13. I can’t seem to get enough! Mercy is a coyote shifter who lives in Washington working as a mechanic. She was raised by werewolves and attempted to strike out on her own. She keeps to herself mostly until she ends up tangled in werewolf business. Her neighbor happens to be the local were pack Alpha, Adam. With the first four books in the series, Mercy gets into trouble […]

Blood, Iron, and Bone

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs

Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs

Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs

December 30, 2020 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

I started the Mercy Thompson series when Moon Called was selected for the VF book club in 2015. I enjoyed the first book but got caught up with other urban fantasy series from Ilona Andrews and Kim Harrison. Over the summer, I was reminded of the series during a virtual Mocha Girls Read meeting. I decided to dive back in with the audio narration and ended up reading three in a row. Mercedes (Mercy) Thompson isn’t looking for trouble in the tri-cities area of Washington. […]

Wow. Not in a Good Way.

Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs

May 10, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

So. I initially was just going to give this three stars and move along. However, after thinking it through this morning, this book honestly doesn’t deserve 3 stars (okay). This book’s pacing was off, there was about zero character development, too much repetition, and I think at one point I even said to myself that this book was just filler. It’s a book to bridge to the next Alpha/Omega book or the next Mercy Thompson. The book synopsis on this one sounded so bad ass […]

Had to Go Back and Reread Parts Due to Awesome Reveal!

March 8, 2017 by Classic 2 Comments

Well I’ll be honest. The main reason why this book is five stars for me is because of the awesome awesome reveal that we get about a character that I was ultimately dismissive of while reading. I ended up having to go back and reread parts of the book though after that reveal and just chuckle to myself. I think long-time readers are going to love it, no spoilers. Until that reveal I was probably firmly in the four-star range territory just because we have […]
