So, the exact opposite of ‘Ancillary Justice,’ basically.

Next stop on the Read Everything Brandon Sanderson Has Ever Written train: the novella, Legion. It’s a short read (as implied by it being a novella), but an interesting one. So interesting, actually, that I don’t think the story was well-served in this shorter format. I had too many questions upon finishing. Luckily, a sequel is being published later this year, but for now it’s really my one complaint with the story. Legion follows Stephen Leeds, nicknamed ‘Legion’ (who saw that one coming!) because of […]

There are no machinations, diversions, or distractions. Tessa Dare provides a witty, bright, engaging love story focused entirely on the winning main characters. Owing to a pubescent scandal, Eliza Cade has been sentenced to wait to enter society until her older sisters are married. Hers is an […]

Egg . . . because his bald head looks like an egg. Get it?

January 10, 2014 by narfna Leave a Comment

NOTE: The Hedge Knight was originally published in the Legends I anthology, edited by Robert Silverberg. As the stories/novellas in the collection are set in previously existing fictional universes, and I have only read two of the series in question, I am only reviewing Martin’s novella at this time. This was really fun and I’m kind of mad at myself as a Martin fan for not checking it out sooner. If you like A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones at all, you should […]
