A tree nymph with a past finds love in a small town

Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues by Molly Harper

December 29, 2019 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

This year, I’ve been living for the paranormal romance audiobooks. They make my commute bearable. Molly Harper’s Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues is set in Mystic Bayou where supernatural beings coexist with humans. I have a soft spot for supernatural tales set in Louisiana after the Sookie Stackhouse series. The series was the gateway drug that got me reading again after a long absence. Since this is a stand-alone novella, I happily dove without reading the first two books. Said tree nymph is Ingrid […]

A sweet & salty little f/f romance novella.

A Little Light Mischief by Cat Sebastian

December 27, 2019 by narfna Leave a Comment

First the blurb, for context: A seductive thief Lady’s maid Molly Wilkins is done with thieving—and cheating and stabbing and all the rest of it. She’s determined to keep her hands to herself, so she really shouldn’t be tempted to seduce her employer’s prim and proper companion, Alice. Continually Thankful My Own Mother Doesn’t Use Her Knowledge of Romance Novel Tropes Against Her Children

A Match Made for Thanksgiving by Jackie Lau

A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas by Jackie Lau

December 23, 2019 by faintingviolet 1 Comment

We’ve reached the time of year where I usually plow through a couple holiday romance novellas while traveling and wind up my Cannonball year. I’ve read two such novellas (and have emmalita to thank for getting them on my radar) and I couldn’t be happier about it. It has also added a new to me author to my buy list so thank goodness I just got a gift card for books in my work Secret Santa! A Match Made for Thanksgiving and A Second Chance […]

A Short, Sweet and Sexy Romance

Grumpy Jake: a Novella by Melissa Blue

December 16, 2019 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I have followed Melissa Blue (@mel_thegreat) on Twitter for a while now. She is a goddammn delight. Last year, Her tweets led me to Suleikha Snyder’s Tikka Chance on Me (which you should 100% read), which kicked of a year of discovering so many new authors in 2019. Blue also writes as Dakota Gray. I have read Perv, but have yet to find a way to review it on a family site. You should also follow Melissa Blue on twitter, and try her books. Blue’s novella, Grumpy […]

Can't Escape Love (Reluctant Royals, #2.6) by Alyssa Cole

December 3, 2019 by narfna Leave a Comment

This was stinking adorable. I enjoyed it so much! I’ve been waiting since I read the first book for Reggie’s story, back when we first heard about her GirlsWithGlasses website. That felt like something you don’t just introduce and then leave alone. I would say that I wish she would have gotten a full book rather than a novella, except that I think this book was exactly the right size. Any longer and it would have dragged. Reggie reaches out to an internet acquaintance when […]
