The highlights of Carol Powder’s life were fun to read about, however, the artwork was a bit “cartoonish” for my personal tastes. I do like the colors and the details are well done; giving you the story and complimenting the text, however, they just didn’t “do it” for me personally. I will be blunt. I have never understood the Peter & the Wolf story. However, with this graphic novel edition, things are shown in simple, mostly black and white illustrations by Bono (yes, that Bono). They are modern, awkward, smooth, abstract, realistic, beautiful and ugly. They are perfect for what is being presented. It’s time for a book roundup! Each book is good for all types of readers and listeners. Not only that, they are nice companions to each other with their softer toned stories, illustrations and less traditional “action” stories.
