“Sometimes, happiness feels so fragile…So what do we do about it?…Live. Forget that it’s fragile. Live like it isn’t”

October 14, 2016 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

You know how sometimes you’ll read a book and think, “This seems like it would be a really great movie one day?” The impression I kept getting from reading Marisa de los Santos’s Belong to Me, is that it would make a really good television series. Her characters are so incredibly well fleshed out and just seemed like such real people. And while there is plot to keep things moving, I really just wanted to spend more time with the characters. It would make for a great […]

A Sweet Little Read

September 14, 2015 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

I completely missed reviewing this book when I completed it a couple of weeks ago, which is a shame because it was a good read from an author that I’m really liking right now. So my apologies to Marisa de los Santos — your book is definitely worth a review! Love Walked In is definitely fluff, but it’s well-written fluff starring a couple of impressive ladies, so I highly recommend it to people who enjoy that sort of thing! “There’s a kind of holiness to love, requited […]

Searching for Their Manic Pixie Dream Girl

August 19, 2015 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

Falling Together, by Marisa de los Santos, featured a handful of characters that I really liked, all chasing after a girl I could not have cared less about. As a result, my primary feeling when I finished reading was: “I’ll miss these people, but thank god that’s over”. “That no matter what happens, loving someone to the best of your ability is the right thing to do. It’s the only thing to do.” Will, Pen and Cat met in college and instantly became an inseparable trio — […]

Good book with a rather random title

August 10, 2015 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

Sometimes random eBooks from the library turn out to be pretty damn good. I really liked The Precious One, and managed to find another book by Marisa de los Santos this weekend at a book fair, so hopefully it’s just as good as this sweet little story. Eustacia “Taisy” Cleary and her twin brother have been estranged from their father for about 18 years — ever since he kicked them (and their mother) out when they were teenagers. Now the old man might be dying, and Taisy gets roped into […]
