Bromantic

Isn't it Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams

April 7, 2022 by Classic Leave a Comment

So I kept comparing this book to historical romances I have read that dealt with marriages of convenience and found “Isn’t it Bromantic?” wanting. I think my main issues were that there were too many plot holes i.e. how come the guys had never met Elena until now? It’s been like what, 3 years since the events in the first book? I didn’t really find that Elena/Vlad were in love with each other. And there were way too many fade to black love scenes. Yes […]

“The Russian” finally gets “Book Clubbed”!

Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams

Three things in life terrified Vlad. A flare up without a bathroom in sight. Running over an animal with his car. And this. Waking up to find his friends circling his bed, their arms crossed and eyes narrowed in matching expressions of resistance is futile. He was about to get book clubbed. Nashville hockey player, Vlad Konnikov has been a loyal member of the Bromance Book Club since day one and he may be the most hopeless romantic of them all. But he’s been keeping […]

**30 Books in 30 Days** Book 8/30 Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for the ARC. It hasn’t affected the content of my review. For the first like 15% of this book, I was giddy with how much I was enjoying it. I was like YES THIS BOOK and highlighting stuff and writing notes. Then the shine wore off a little. And then there were some bits at the end that made me roll my eyes. So overall, this was an average reading experience, with some […]

Realizing that I need to review some of these books so that I remember I actually read them this year.

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone

Every year I keep a long list of the books that I read during CBR that I didn’t have a chance to review. Looking at the very long list for 2020 made me realize that if I don’t write down my thoughts (as I have for the past 11 years), I will never remember that I read any of these. Ergo, here are some smaller reviews, wrapped up in a larger review. I hope to spit a few of these out before CBR13 starts! The […]

Greatest romance novel cover of all time? Possibly. It’s gotta be in the running.

Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club, #3) by Lyssa Kay Adams

Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for the ARC. It hasn’t affected the content of my review. I continue to get such a kick out of this series. It continues to openly pander to my desires, and the fantasy of a group of men willing (enthusiastically!) to work at their emotional intelligence, and undo toxic masculinity in their lives is a potent one. That they are choosing to do this through a romance novel book club is both sweet and silly. (It’s also practical! The men […]

The Bromance Bookclub by Lyssa Kay Adams

Les liaisons dangereuses by Chodorlos de Laclos

October 9, 2020 by jormis Leave a Comment

The Bromance Bookclub is a preposterous and silly book, with a novel within a novel. It starts as with so many times before: a man alone in a hotel room – “face-planted on the carpet while reaching for the bottle.” This time it’s Gavin Scott, a baseball player in Nashville Legends. Then, someone’s banging the door – his team mates, Delroy Hicks and Yan Feliciano, and a third person, a nightclub owner and a metrosexual Braden Mack. They’ve come to rescue poor Gavin from his […]
