Lucas and Russian Spies

Hidden Prey by John Sandford

February 8, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

Yeah this book actually deals with Russian spies. Who knew how timely a read this would be for a book that was published back in 2004. The whole Russia thing was a non-starter for me. It just doesn’t work and it feels like Lucas is going through the motions. He has a new female Russia spymaster (or whatever she is) along for the ride as Lucas investigates why a man was murdered with ties to Russia. The only interesting to me in this one was […]

I Came to Praise Carla Rinker

Mortal Prey by John Sandford

January 24, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

Sigh. Wow. Sandford holds nothing back in this 13th book in the Lucas Davenport series. He brings back Clara Rinker and we are on for a wild ride. I really had no issues with anything except the ending, I wanted a different one, which probably says more about me than anything else. In “Mortal Prey” we have Lucas and Weather planning their wedding and expecting their first child together. Lucas is going crazy with plans for their new house coming together and also with him […]

Chosen Prey Rebounds After the Last Prey Book

Chosen Prey by John Sandford

January 24, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

We get to see who Lucas chose after the mess of the last Prey book (spoiler: Weather) and how they are dealing with each other months later. Still ambivalent about what things mean, the two are back together, stronger than before. Lucas is dealing with a shake up though professionally. The chief who he has been working for is not likely to get re-appointed, which means Lucas is going to have to go too. If that’s enough, it appears a murder is leading Lucas and […]

Lucas hunts a lady hitman

October 2, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So this is Book 10 in the Lucas Davenport / Prey series. For some reason I had a hard time finishing this one. I think it was because it was *GASP* a real hardcover book, and not a paperback or Kindle book. I read my Kindle nearly every night in my bed, so I fly through my ebooks pretty quickly. I also usually have a paperback in my desk or my purse in case I have some time at work or wherever I am. I […]

I forgot how much I liked Lucas… Book 9 of the Prey series

August 1, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So this is book 9 of a series I accidentally started on like book 24 or something. After I read book 24 (or whatever it was – I guess I could go back into my CBR 7 history and check, but it’s Monday, so no), I went back and started at book 1. Then I got caught up in other stuff, and forgot entirely about the prey series. My bad. Like I say in the title, I forgot how much I like Lucas Davenport, the […]
