Time-traveling serial killer: SOLD.

July 27, 2015 by narfna 2 Comments

I mean. Come on. Just, this author did not have to do any work at all in selling this book to a publisher. And the publisher had no trouble marketing it. Obviously. Time-traveling serial killer sells itself. All this book had to do was show up and it would have been popular, just because we all wanted to read the book about the time-traveling serial killer. Luckily, this book is far from phoned in. It maybe even goes a bit further in the other direction. […]

Serial Killing Across the Ages

July 24, 2015 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

Our bad guy in The Shining Girls is pretty damn creepy, even if he’s never really fleshed out as a character. He’s discovered a run-down house with a wealth of treasures inside, a house that allows him to step out into any year between 1929 and 1993. The house also has a room full of souvenirs, and a wall with names — the names of “shining” girls that Harper will hunt down, or has hunted down, or will hunt down again. “And he’s sorry he ever […]

Life’s full of regrets, mistakes, lost opportunities and bad memories. Sometimes you can see them in someone’s eyes or the way they act, but sometimes they’re hidden under nonchalance and a bright smile. But imagine if you couldn’t hide it-if everyone could see your past sins in a physical form?

Shine on you crazy diamond

January 22, 2015 by TylerDFC 4 Comments

There are three reasons I pushed through The Shining Girls to the end. First, I hate giving up on entertainments half way through. This is also why I stuck with American Horror Story: Freak Show despite it being a fetid pile of rancid bung beetles. Second, I09 was so effusive in their praise I felt like I wasn’t giving it a proper chance. Third, because Wikipedia does not have a complete synopsis. If I’m being honest Reason Third is the most important reason I stuck […]

Harajuku Rapunzel

December 31, 2014 by Robyn Robotron Leave a Comment

First Gwen Stefani, now Rapunzel?  I do have to say, I love her style, especially that bathroom haircut and her final fight outfit with that fuzzy coat that I’m not going to tell you what it’s made of.
