3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. I’m really not sure I have 250 words to say about this book. It’s 71 lists about parenthood. They’re not hilarious, but they’re pretty funny. Maybe not laugh out loud, but definitely chuckle out loud. It’s good to know other kids are as weird as mine. On a list of the cool new things you’ll get to do as a parent? Let someone stare blankly at you and eat a popsicle while you pee! Yep, that’s happened. Games you […]
Wink wink nudge nudge, parenthood, amirite?
2.5 stars In the 2016 winner of the Most Thinly Veiled Memoir award, Greg Olear Josh Lansky spends a really long day parenting his two young kids, Roland and Maude. Yes, Maude. And Roland. Okay, well, that’s fine. […]

[…]

Continuing our forays into new poetry, next up is Kids Pick The Funniest Poems, which is a collection of about 100 or so poems, selected by 300 elementary school children and collected for this book by Bruce Lansky. Aside from a handful of familiar names – Jack Prelutsky, Ogden Nash, Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, the previously mentioned Judith Viorst – most of the poems come from new-to-me sources, but they’re almost all American or Canadian poets. Some names include Jeff Moss, Maxine Jeffris, Phlil Bolsta, […]
