Just when you think you know everything…

The Girl From Guernica by Karen Robards

May 27, 2024 by katie71483 Leave a Comment

I don’t recall why any longer, but the other day something sent me down a Kindle rabbit hole search for a specific Karen Robards book. There was a point in time when Ms. Robards was an automatic purchase for me – if I saw a new book on the rack at the grocery store or at Barnes & Noble, in the basket it went. Like many authors from the late 90s and early aughts for which I had this habit, she kind of fell off […]

Camping in the snow is not so sexy

June 12, 2016 by Sophia Leave a Comment

I generally really enjoy Karen Robards’ novels, so I was excited to get her latest, Darkness (2016), when it finally came in at the library. I can usually count on her for some romantic adventure and excitement. Her books can be a little too violent sometimes, but I’ll overlook it if she sucks me into the story. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t do it for me. I did listen to it on CD instead of reading it, but I’m pretty sure reading it wouldn’t have made […]

The downfall of the alpha male

March 24, 2015 by Sophia Leave a Comment

I’ve read a lot of Karen Robards’ books, so when I saw Hush (2014) on a bookstore shelf, I picked it up as soon as I could. Robards’ contemporary work can usually be counted on for some suspense, violence, a buff protector-type, and long sex scenes. I’ve definitely enjoyed some of her books and hated one of her earlier works. Since this book was written recently, I began this one with relatively high expectations. So, I don’t know if my recent reading of Courtney Milan’s […]

Yeah, the criminal justice system doesn’t work that way

October 25, 2014 by Sophia Leave a Comment

Karen Robards is another–original–favorite romance author of mine. I found her ages ago. Sometimes her books can get a little too violent and bloody, but they’re consistently fast-paced and easy to read. I usually enjoy them. So when I saw Hunted (2013) by Karen Robards on bookshelves, I picked it up–at the library (because I’m cheap). Quite often with Robards comes murder and mystery and Hunted is no different. Reed Ware is a New Orleans Homicide Detective and his fated love interest, Caroline Wallace, is […]
