You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

If you’re not into spirituality or woo-woo, you may want to skip this review. I talked a little bit about my spiritual journey in my review of Love Wins. During this time of shelter-in-place and global pandemic, I’ve been diving deeper into what I believe. This book helped to lock some pieces into place for me, and for that, I am immensely grateful. Before I get to the juicy part, I need to lay the foundation. Because I try to avoid decision fatigue at all costs, when […]

You Are a Badass:How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living and Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

So, I really don’t know why I picked yet another self-help book, but here we are.  Again, Amazon was pumping this book at me, and it seemed more promising than Girl Wash Your Face and I requested them both from the library.  They both delivered to my account at the same time and I’m now listening to them back to back.  While this book (barely) compares favorably to Girl Wash Your Face, I just couldn’t bring myself to finish it.  I’m taking power of my […]

My quest to check out new book clubs continues. This time I read my first ever self-help book, You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero. The organizer of this book club was interested in this book and it’s a woman author, so here we are. I absolutely hated most of it. I’d give it one star except I will admit that it made me think more seriously about my secret dream to become […]

Like “The Secret” With Cussing. That is Not A Compliment.

Best for: I can’t think of a reader I’d recommend this to. In a nutshell: Life Coach re-purposes classic self-help book recommendations into multiple short chapters that say very little that is new or original. Also, she swears. Line that sticks with me: None. Why I chose it: Embarrassingly, the “Badass” in the title drew me in. Review: From a quick CBR search, it appears I might be the only person to have reviewed this book so far. Good. If this is in your TBR pile, I […]
