Rex and Ranger Have a Sleepover

Hard Core Twenty-Four by Janet Evanovich

May 7, 2019 by Lynn 1 Comment

Rex is a lucky, lucky hamster. Spoilers abound, so… be warned. Simon Diggery is FTA, so Stephanie goes to get him, and he happily goes along with her. Simon’s usually an issue, so when he’s willing to go to jail and hang out there for a while, Stephanie can’t resist asking why. Turns out, there are zombies on the loose, which Simon discovered while grave robbing. Which, okay, but Stephanie’s not interested in zombie hunting because it’s scary, and besides, she’s too busy taking care […]

Not Quite as Light as I Was Hoping For

One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

March 28, 2019 by Tracy Leave a Comment

[Trigger warning for sensitive material mentioned below.] I first started the Stephanie Plum series many years ago – probably at least 10. I was recently looking for some light reading when I was going through an emotionally challenging time, and since I recalled the series being pretty light and many of the books are in my bookcase, I went ahead and grabbed the first one: One for the Money. The premise is that Stephanie lost her job several months ago and hasn’t been able to […]

You have redeemed yourself Janet.

Surprisingly a good read! I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books and have begun to not enjoy them as much, as they are very similar. I have also been finding the whole love triangle to become monotonous. So, having read a whole pile of suspense crime novels this year, I’m not sure if that changed my perspective on the book, or if I was sick of the love triangle so wasn’t interested in that side of the story, or if Janet actually […]

Welcome to my first ever 1-star review

November 7, 2018 by KimMiE" 6 Comments

CBR10 Bingo: Home, Something, Home (Janet Evanovich is from my home state of New Jersey, where the action in this novel also takes place.) I tend to be fairly generous in my reviews, with most of them falling in the 3- to 4-star range. Even if I don’t particularly care for a book, I appreciate that an individual has put herself out there and offered up something she created for the world to enjoy, and that deserves respect. Sometimes the process of writing a review calls my […]

My break up letter to Janet Evanovich

March 19, 2018 by KB 1 Comment

Ah Janet. Where to begin. Or should I start saying, “when should I stop?” I am an avid fan of the Stephanie Plum series. And as I mentioned in a previous review, despite being up to book 24 in the Stephanie Plum series, and despite every book following the same formula, each book is a quick easy read guaranteed to have me chuckling. Every now and again I venture out and try one of Janet’s other book endeavours. So I read Curious Minds. I […]

Another Stephanie Plum book……

February 10, 2018 by KB 1 Comment

What can we say about book 24 in this series that would not have been said about the previous 23 books?? Not much, except that a new love interest has popped up!  With a bit of research, apparently Diesel is in the special edition Stephanie Plum books – the Christmas ones. Personally I did not enjoy these off shoots and only read a couple of them. So the new love interest definitely adds something new to this particular book in the series. Despite this book […]
