Grandma Mazur is the star of Twisted Twenty-Six and I wouldn’t have it any other way

Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich

January 7, 2020 by pixifer Leave a Comment

Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich is, you guessed it, the 26th book in the Stephanie Plum Series.  In case you’ve never read a Stephanie Plum book, here’s the gist. Stephanie is a thirty-something bail bonds officer, aka bounty hunter, in the Trenton suburb where she was raised. She’s not great at her job, but she is persistent. The cast includes her cop boyfriend Joe Morelli, her sometimes lover and security expert Ranger, her best friend and partner in crime Lula, and her parents and grandmother.  […]

“Amateur-Hour Version of The Best of ‘Cops’ Bloopers”

Hot Six by Janet Evanovich

June 9, 2019 by Tracy Leave a Comment

Hot Six picks up right were High Five left off – Stephanie has just called over either Morelli or Ranger and we find out which one it is. The timeline then jumps forward 5 months, by which time she and Morelli are apparently dating. The title of this post comes from a line in the book in which Stephanie recognizes that she and Lula do not exactly make the most experienced team. After the time jump, we find out that Ranger was arrested for carrying concealed […]

Things Are Heating up with Ranger

High Five by Janet Evanovich

May 26, 2019 by Tracy Leave a Comment

I really enjoyed this one. Stephanie isn’t after a major FTA (failure to appear) this time, which leads to some nice interactions with Ranger and the introduction of some of the men Ranger employs. Lately there haven’t been many FTAs and Stephanie is low on funds and overdue for rent, so she asks Ranger to let her know of any job opportunities, and he has her help out (I use the word “help” loosely as she tends to bumble things) with a few jobs for […]

Just Another Stephanie Plum Novel

Four to Score by Janet Evanovich

May 21, 2019 by Tracy Leave a Comment

In this 4th book of the series, Stephanie Plum has some competition. Her nemesis, Joyce Barnhardt, who had slept with Stephanie’s now-ex husband before he had “ex” in front of the title, has been hired by Stephanie’s cousin Vinnie to work as another bounty hunter. At first this angers Stephanie only because Joyce is her nemesis. However, later on Joyce becomes a bigger problem when she is assigned to the case that Stephanie is on. The FTA (failure to appear) that Stephanie is after this […]

Two (Reviews) for the Dough

Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich

Three to Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich

May 15, 2019 by Tracy Leave a Comment

I thought I’d keep going with the Stephanie Plum series, til I either get bored and need a break or finish up all the ones I have. For the uninitiated, Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series is about, you guessed it, Stephanie Plum, a divorcee who loses her job and goes to work for her cousin as a bounty hunter. She pretty consistently gets in over her head, ends up in danger or injured at various times, and as far as I can recall, she never […]

Who actually wrote this one?

Look Alive, Twenty-Five by Janet Evanovich

May 7, 2019 by Lynn Leave a Comment

Oh, Janet. Did you write this one? It feels like maybe you didn’t. First, a summary. One of Vinnie’s bondees (is that a word?) has gone FTA and forfeited his collateral, The Red River Deli in Trenton, which means that Vinnie is now the proud owner. The only problem? Three managers have gone missing in the last month, so Vinnie taps Stephanie and Lula to run the show. As bad as Stephanie is as a bond enforcement agent, she’s even worse as a deli manager. […]
