It’s not that Research isn’t aware of the ethical implications of its line of inquiry. It’s just that they really don’t care.
“When the end came, it was beautiful.”
“When you got right down to it, humans were still just curious monkeys. They still had to poke everything they found with a stick to see what it did.” I have to admit that I get intimidated by science fiction. I’m worried that it will go over my head and I won’t get it. Not that I don’t enjoy sci fi–I do! But I’ve always leaned more in the direction of fantasy, feeling that sci fi was outside of my comfort zone. I’ve been slowly […]
Why aren’t you guys reading this series?
“That’s the problem with things you can’t do twice,” Naomi said. “You can’t ever know how it would have gone if it had been the other way.” “No. But you can say that if you don’t do something different it’ll happen again, and again, and again, over and over until something changes the game.” “Like the protomolecule?” “It didn’t change anything,” Holden said. “Here we are, still doing all the same things we did before. We’ve got a bigger battleground. Some of the sides have shifted […]

When you get to the sixth book in a consistently excellent series, there isn’t […]
When the $hit Gets Even More Real
Hello Cannonball Read 9 and hello to my very first Cannonball Read review! I’m more than happy to do whatever I can to help kick cancer squarely in the metaphorical nuts. All right, let’s get down to business.
This is Why I Hate Starting a Series While it is Still Being Written
LALKJSLKJHODIJHOIELSLIDFGOWLS. Stupid book and it’s stupid ending and stupid authors for not finishing the series yet. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH Which is not actually a review, I acknowledge. If you’ll allow me a moment to compose myself, let me see if I can put something coherent together. So yea, this book… GUYS I NEEED THE NEXT ONE NOW. Ahem, I mean it doesn’t really end on a cliffhanger, but it does a little bit and that is enough to make me want to scream. It’s close enough to a cliffhanger […]
