When Jason Mantzoukas says he’s obsessed with a book, you better believe I’m going to read it.

All You Need is Kill by Yoshitoshi Abe, Hiroshi Sakurazaka, Takeshi Obata

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki, Rosemary Valero-O’Connell

I’m a big fan of the graphic novel. I will fight anyone who doesn’t think spending time with a graphic novel counts as reading — for any reading level from elementary to adult. It counts. Since we started self-distancing, I’ve read three amazing — and so, so, so very different — graphic novels. The first, All You Need is Kill, is probably the most famous of the bunch. There is a danger to reading the book after watching the movie. Reading the book might cool your love for the movie, especially if the hero is white washed and played by an actor you don’t like. I had been meaning to read All You Need is Kill for a couple of years. I mostly loved the hideously named movie version, Edge of Tomorrow, but fully expected to like the book better. One major advantage of the book, besides being a book, would be the […]

Last month, I finally saw the film Edge of Tomorrow and loved it. I was initially very reluctant to throw my money at Tom Cruise, because…Tom Cruise.
