I need Devour to become a real show on my television, people!

May 2, 2015 by Malin 2 Comments

It seems very appropriate to post my review of the Fug Girls‘ most recent book (their baby, so to speak) on the same day that the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her second baby. This book starts the night before American Rebecca Porter is about to marry the heir to the British throne, as she’s trying not to freak out about the fact that she’s being blackmailed and her twin sister isn’t speaking to her at all. Cut to many years previous, when she […]

A love letter to Wills and Kate. And we all rejoiced.

A few years later, when doing a little digging on the site, I discovered that Heathen, really, Heather, had started a fashion blog with fellow TWoP recapper, Jessica, called Go Fug Yourself. That was in 2006. I scooted over to the site, and have been a fan ever since. While I don’t read The Fug Girls’ posts as religiously as […]

Embrace Your Inner Princess

I have two things I feel I must tell you before we get started. They will probably let you know exactly what kind of review this is going to be, and I’m perfectly okay with that. The first is a confession: when I was 13, I had a picture of Prince William on my wall. He is exactly 8 days older than me, and I felt that this meant we were destined to be together, despite the fact that I’m American, a no one, and […]

High Quality Fluff

I needed a fun and fluffy palate cleanser so I decided to pick up these young adult novels by the women behind the Go Fug Yourself blog. They were just what I needed—a few hours of enjoyable escapism. In Spoiled, sixteen-year-old Molly Dix finds out right before her mother dies that she’s the daughter of famous actor Brick Berlin. In an attempt to connect with her movie star dad and spoiled half-sister, Brooke Berlin, she leaves Indiana for Beverly Hills. Things don’t go as smoothly […]
