Somewhere, in one of the volumes of Fables before this one, Jack of the Tales split and got his own series. I’m not exactly sure where that happened as Jack is not a character I particularly cared about and now that he’s back (for a limited time), I’m even more inclined to wish he would be set on fire. Jack’s past gets revealed quickly and with not much detail, which is probably means you should’ve been reading his series concurrently with the main Fables tales. […]
Nimona.
Lord Blackheart is not your average villain and he certainly does not want a sidekick. Especially not some kid, following him around all day. Except, Nimona is not just a kid, she’s a shapeshifter who can take the form of any living thing, and she has great plans for Lord Blackheart’s villainy. Sure the great Lord Ballister Blackheart may have been kicked out of the academy, betrayed in training by his best friend Sir Goldenloin (this is not a typo, I repeat this is not […]

The Saga series takes place in a world where two factions are fighting each other in a never-ending galactic war. Though the fight started on a world and its moon, the conflict has spread to many other worlds and drawn in other species all over the galaxy. When two soldiers from opposite sides fall in love, desert their respective armies, and have a baby, both sides try to kill the parents and kidnap the baby. Marko and Alana make some narrow escapes and try desperately […]
A Quick Must Read
Definitely the cutest book I’ve read this year. I had a smile on my face throughout the entirety of it. Run, don’t walk, to your local library or bookstore to read it. I really think it’d be enjoyable to graphic novel newbies as well as readers more versed in the genre. Nimona joins up as the sidekick to Lord Ballister Blackheart, a villain with a vendetta against the kingdom’s current hero, Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin. Nimona is a complete joy to watch as she shapeshifts her […]
There is an actual sharknado in this book
There is an actual sharknado in this book. I feel like that should somehow be review enough. I mean… Maria Dahvana Headley seems like a wonderful person and I feel truly awful for saying this, but Magonia is a terrible book, it is unbelievable, boringly crafted and the structure of the story is completely imbalanced. I hated it, I was bored out of my mind – but the cover’s really pretty, so I guess that’s something. It starts out fine. Aza is your run of […]
“They never realized they were puppets…made to dance and love and die and suffer…just like me…”
The Deadpool Killogy is comprised of three graphic novels. The first, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, starts when Professor Charles Xavier has Deadpool committed to Ravenscroft Asylum. What he doesn’t know is that the famous Dr. Benjamin Brighton who heads the hospital is really Psycho-Man. The supervillain plans to brainwash Deadpool, hoping to form a super army, but it doesn’t work out like he planned. He ends up making Deadpool’s subconscious stronger. It’s true that Deadpool has always had voices in his head, but now […]
