Of Earthly Delights by Goldy Moldavsky

Of Earthly Delights by Goldy Moldavsky

May 3, 2025 by Classic Leave a Comment

Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review. Going to be very careful to not reveal anything, but wow. I thought this entire book was great. It took me til twist #1 for me to understand everything fully I had read. I went back and re-read some of the earlier portions which made everything make sense. And then happily finished this book. It’s a really good Gothic romance young adult novel. Think of “The Secret Garden” […]

50 Shades of Grey is to Twilight as Kill the Boyband is to One Direction FanFic

Y’all, I knew this was going to be bad. The reviews are a mixed bag but the overall consensus was it was thinly veiled One Direction fan fiction and I’m not a fan fiction fan. I didn’t like Carry On for similar reasons but I was looking for a popcorn book to get me through my lunch breaks this week so… in I went. Our narrator is nameless or I forgot it because she constantly uses fake names like Sloane Peterson and Diane Court. I […]

When I was twelve and thirteen, I loved New Kids on the Block. Specifically, I loved Donnie Wahlberg. Like, with a passion that only thirteen year old girls harbor. I wasn’t as bad as my friend Heather, who loved Jordan Knight so much that the had the sheets and pillowcases and sleeping bag and shoestrings, but I loved him exactly as much as my parents (and their budget) would allow. I saw them in concert three times (my father is a SAINT; he’s the one […]

“I was holding someone captive and all that was going through my mind was a Billboard Top 40 love song.”

August 4, 2016 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

I spent most of this book trying to figure out if I was reading good dark comedy, or bad fan fiction. Judging by the Goodreads reviews, most people felt the same way. By the end, I concluded it was more on the dark humor side — but enough of it had me rolling my eyes to drop my rating a bit. “Did I love them because they were the only boys in my life who consistently told me that I was beautiful? Probably. I loved […]
