Time for the other series that will give you more goosebumps! Ready for a Scare? The Graphic Novel Volume 3: You’re Invited to a Creepover by P.J. Night and illustrated by Glass House Graphics is for the Goosebump books lover who also likes graphic novels. Or for the reader who wants something “creepy” but is not ready for something like Five Nights of Freddy or an older read. Things can be a smidgen spooky (after all there are over the computer  seances,  the death of […]

To find a plant and plant it

Spirited V03 Greenhouse of Horror by Liv Livingston

April 3, 2024 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

Spirited V03 Greenhouse of Horror by Liv Livingston, Glass House Graphics and illustrated by Anna Volcan is due in July 2024. Therefore, as books one and two, this was read via an online reader copy. Book four is due in October 2024 but I’m still looking for a reader copy. However, if you want to read all four at once, in mid-November 2024 the collection of all four books will be available in a boxed edition. And honestly, I think you should (or use your […]

Spirited V02 Go, Ghoul, Go! by Liv Livingston

April 2, 2024 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

The one thing I have with sequels is that if I read them too far apart, I forget parts of book one/the book(s) before. And that happened with  Spirited V02 Go, Ghoul, Go! by Liv Livingston and Glass House Graphics. I mean, I remembered that Liv is the only living person (if you don’t count the werewolves and creatures of the swamp and such, I don’t count vampires) in a school of mostly ghosts. I remembered that she has two good friends, a “mean-girl” in […]

Spirited Volume one: Day of the Living Liv by Liv Livingston

January 31, 2024 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

Liv Livingston tells her story in Spirited Volume one: Day of the Living Liv. Okay, I am not sure who the author actually is, maybe she has a ghostwriter? After all, Liv is starting a new school and her classmates are kinda a dead bunch to be around. No really, a lot of them are ghosts and boy do they have questions about Liv and being alive! (Yes, we need umbrellas when it rains.) This is a cute story about being yourself and that is […]

Getting more than goosebumps

You're Invited to a Creepover V01 Truth or Dare by P.J. Night

You're Invited to a Creepover V02 You Can't Come in Here! by P.J. Night

I never read Goosebumps as a kid, but did read R. L. Stine’s Fear Street, and other authors like that. Funny thing was, I never liked horror. Mystery yes, and if it was a thriller I was okay, but not full out horror. The other funny thing was, I probably was reading horror as there were vampires, witches, ghosts, and occasionally the oddness of the supernatural. As an adult I realized there are levels of thriller/horror, and P. J. Nighty has done just that. Along […]

Godboys and Goddessgirls go to school and do teen things

Goddess Girls Graphic V02 Persephone the Phony Graphic Novel by Joan Holub

May 22, 2023 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

I feel similar about the Goddess Girls Graphic Novel series as I did to PAWS recently. There was nothing new to it and it is flat. However, the interesting part (or at least a fact about the graphic novels) is that the Goddess Girls graphic novels are based on the actual novels of several years ago. At least this makes me wonder how updated they are or are they “old school” mentality? Regardless of their connection to the novels, this book at least can be picked […]
