Not exactly Little Red Riding Hood

Big Bad Wolf by Suleikha Snyder

February 2, 2021 by Malin 4 Comments

Disclaimer! I got an ARC from NetGalley. That has in no way influenced my review.   In a dystopian alternate reality, where the 2016 election led to the USA becoming a tightly regulated surveillance state, pretty much at the same time as the existence of a number of supernatural beings were revealed, several big cities, including New York, are now a Sanctuary City for supernaturals. Joe Peluso, an ex-soldier turned werewolf through military experimentation, is in prison for murdering six bear shifters with ties to […]

I want to wrap myself up in this book cover and live happily ever after.

LOOK at how beautiful this book by CL Polk is. I want this pattern in pjs and sheets and a phone case. It is just so pretty. Plus, it sounds amazing and I can’t wait to read it. I’ve had Whiteout on my TBR for a while and will crack it open to start off CBR13. The chocolate is delicious and I am hiding it from my kids. Thank you, Emmalita. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!!

Enemies to lovers in a dark, pre-historic world

A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane

September 25, 2020 by Malin 3 Comments

Official book description: A generation past, the western realms were embroiled in endless war. Then the Destroyer came. From the blood and ashes he left behind, a tenuous alliance rose between the barbarian riders of Parsathe and the walled kingdoms of the south. That alliance is all that stands against the return of an ancient evil – until the barbarian king and queen are slain in an act of bloody betrayal.   Though forbidden by the alliance council to kill the corrupt king responsible for […]

I’ve got pretty ingrained habits – a romance to start the New Year

Beginner's Luck (Chance of a Lifetime #1) by Kate Clayborn

January 1, 2020 by faintingviolet 1 Comment

I had decided a couple weeks ago that my New Years Day plan was to hang out in comfy clothes while reading and reviewing a book. I have managed to achieve that goal, and all before dinner time! What I didn’t originally know was that with the Romance Writers of America deciding to implode over Christmas week I would be frontloading a lot of Romance books by authors who were out on the frontlines (Kate Clayborn) and/or with new works coming out (her latest Love […]
