A-quirk-able!

My Squirrel Days by Ellie Kemper

June 13, 2019 by Niki Leave a Comment

Yet again, I’m really not sure why I picked this book, other than it kept getting recommended to me based on other things I’ve read.  I couldn’t really get into The Office,  Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, or Bridesmaids, and I really don’t know anything else about the author other than her roles.  That said, I was looking for a new audiobook and this became available and I went for it. This book was a slog for me.  I just could not get into the folksy, “aww gee” awkwardness that was […]

TRYING SO HARD

My Squirrel Days by Ellie Kemper

April 12, 2019 by badkittyuno Leave a Comment

A quick note: I finished this book over two months (because I am a garbage person and that’s how far behind I am in my reviews) and I distinctly remember NOT LIKING IT. However, at the time of reading it, I also had distinct memories of NOT LIKING The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (for many of the same reasons, which I’m about to get into). That being said, I have since started re-watching Kimmy and I’m liking it way more now. So while this will be a fairly […]

“[We’ll] never know how much of this book the squirrel wrote.”—Mindy Kaling

My Squirrel Days by Ellie Kemper

I received My Squirrel Days from the lovely emmalita during our Cannonball gift exchange. I was very excited because my library did not have Kimmy Schmidt’s Ellie Kemper’s memoir available to borrow and I must read all memoirs written by people with more than 50,000 Twitter followers (edit: apparently Ellie doesn’t have a Twitter but she has 546k Instagram followers so the sentiment is the same). There comes a time in every sitcom actress’s life when she is faced with the prospect of writing a […]

Thank you emmalita

December 7, 2018 by Caitlin_D 4 Comments

Cannonball gift exchange is one of my favorite Christmastime traditions and this year my not so secret Santa was our Bingo organizer extraordinaire emmalita! Thank you for Ellie Kemper’s My Squirrel Days (my library doesn’t have it!), a Michelle Obama coloring book and the Kindle edition of Snoop Dogg’s From Crook to Cook which I did not know I needed but am super excited about.
