Keeping things interesting
3.5 stars. The Secret Place was somewhat of a departure for Tana French. I don’t even know why I was surprised that I liked this so much
4.5 stars. I honestly didn’t expect to like this book much when I found out it was centered on Scorcher Kennedy, a massive annoyance in the French’s last book, Faithful Place. Guys. This book was super depressing. I read it fairly quickly, but it was gloomy and I was already feeling sort of gloomy so I’m not sure I really enjoyed it. It was, however, that it was well-written and engaging. I just don’t know that I’ll read more. The world is bleak enough without spending my leisure time depressing the hell out of myself.
