“Take these [melted] wings”

Sweet Obsession by Katee Robert

April 22, 2025 by Jen K Leave a Comment

I have been reading this series since it started, having stumbled on Katee Robert after Sarah MacLean recommended the first novella from her A Touch of Taboo series. As someone that enjoys Greek mythology, I am very much here for the reimagining of Olympus into a modern day city run by the 12. As a result, even when I am less excited about any given pairing or grouping of love interests, the broader world politics and implications are still interesting. Still, the last few novels […]

“It’s a shame we don’t have all the time in the world.” He continues before that statement can sting. “But we’ll make do with what we have.”

Sweet Obsession by Katee Robert

Sweet Obsession is fantastic, but can’t be read as a standalone. The romance between Icarus and Poseidon is one of the best of the Dark Olympus series. Sweet Obsession also does two things that needed to happen at this point in the series. One it brings us firmly back into Olympus’s politics in the upper city. Two, by giving us more Hera and Zeus, and finally letting us meet Circe, it sets the hook for the final two books in the series. At the end of Dark […]

Very Tired Pawns

Cruel Seduction by Katee Robert

October 17, 2023 by Pooja 4 Comments

CBR 15 Bingo- Getaway: Not that I mind thinking about South America, but I simply don’t have any book coming up that’s related to it, and I want to black out my bingo board! I supposed Katee Robert’s work is pretty escapist too. Eris must wed Theseus, who made his way into the Thirteen through murder, to keep a closer eye on him. To irk him she takes up with his best friend Pandora; to irk her he takes up with her ex-boyfriend Adonis. But […]

“Better to be feared than desired.”

Stone Heart by Katee Robert

Radiant Sin by Katee Robert

May 30, 2023 by Pooja 2 Comments

Stone Heart – 3 stars Medusa, an assassin working for Athena, is sent to kill Calypso, the inconvenient mistress of a high-profile politician. But Calypso, beautiful and cunning, will do anything to save her life – including seducing Medusa. This book serves as a prequel of sorts to the series, introducing the reader to the world of Olympus and the machinations of the Thirteen. I enjoyed the new perspective that we got on living in the city – unlike in the main books of the […]

Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert

June 12, 2022 by wicherwill 2 Comments

I might be rounding up for this book–I picked this up because I really loved Neon Gods, but these next two entries just haven’t really kept my attention as much. This time around, the old Ares (head of Olympus’ armed forces) has passed away. The spot of Ares is filled with the victor of a series of physical trials–sort of a American Ninja/Triwizard maze/Gladiator set. Helen (of Troy), in this series one of the sisters of the current Zeus (nee Perseus) and a member of one […]

I deserve more than to be a prize

Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert

May 23, 2022 by Emmalita 5 Comments

I was asked why I wanted to read Katee Robert’s Wicked Beauty and I said it was because I wanted to see a Helen who wasn’t a pawn, and definitely a Helen who got better partners than Paris and Menelaus. Wicked Beauty delivers that with a Helen who is determined to dictate her own future, and finds herself in a competitors to lovers relationship with Achilles and Patroclus. Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series is less a retelling of Greek mythology and more in the style […]
