crystalclear read my mind!

The Light in the Ruins by Chris Bohjalian

February 7, 2021 by andtheIToldYouSos Leave a Comment

Way back in the olden days of 2020, the amazing crystalclear sent some inspired picks my way for CBR Book Exchange. Hooray! I kicked off the new year with one of their thoughtful additions to my TBR pile; I had wanted to read Storm Front for some time thanks to the lovely folks here at CBR. The other book, The Light in the Ruins, was a book with which I was unfamiliar. I was immediately excited and impressed after reading the cover copy, as I […]

Thank You So Much, crystalclear!!!!

December 12, 2020 by andtheIToldYouSos 2 Comments

I am so excited!!!! The wonderful crystalclear hooked me up with my two greatest weaknesses: series and CANDY! I’m going to start Storm Front right after I post this message, The Light in the Ruins looks RIGHT up my alley (were you in my brain?), and I am going to hide the treats before Rufus takes them- right now he is VERY interested in the VERY COOL 3D card! Thank you for a wonderful first Book Exchange, and I’ll be wearing those socks at the party today!

Thank you, crystalclear!!!

My book exchange buddy got me two things I’ve never heard of, but I’m so excited to add them to my TBR list! Thank you so much, crystalclear! I can’t wait to investigate this story of haunted palaces and lesbian necromancers (Gideon the Ninth, Tamsyn Muir), and super-students on their first mission (Aurora Rising, Amie Kaufman). Looking forward to them both!

Adorable and Full of Meaning

July 22, 2017 by faintingviolet Leave a Comment

When crystalclear reviewed Lobster is the Best Medicine, she suggested passing along this book about friendship to your friends. I am lucky enough to call her friend – and I am the same friend who moved recently and had the naked refrigerator in need of fun Liz Climo magnets – so when she was over my house the other night she handed me this book and I immediately blew through it. Reviewing this one is a bit tough, as it is very straightforward in its […]

Kirk and Spock Entertain After Weeks of Meetings

October 7, 2016 by faintingviolet Leave a Comment

This book would probably make a nice gift for the Trekkie in your life, so if you are the kind of person who starts their holiday shopping already and are in need of fun gift to add to the pile, then go on ahead and click that link up there and get some of these for yourself.  I am not a huge Star Trek fan – a feel like that is a needed reminder of why I’m ranking this three stars – but I did […]
