You’ll never look at a library the same way

Stacked by Aviva Blakeman

July 7, 2019 by katie71483 Leave a Comment

Note: I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to read and review Stacked, because the author is a dear friend, but no need to worry! It was thoroughly enjoyable. A couple of things really stood out to me as I read this first installment of the Devil’s Bastards MC series: First, the author can impart a hell of lot of information about the protagonists during their meet cute. Both characters […]

Florand Trust Me

Florand’s Formula Doesn’t Quite Work This Time

Trust Me by Laura Florand

July 6, 2019 by Mrs. Julien Leave a Comment

An American Commando and Parisian pastry chef? Whyever not? More time spent with some of the world’s finest pastry chefs? Yes, please. Laura Florand’s frequent theme of learning to be brave in new ways or discovering that you already are? Absolutely! Trust Me is the third book in Florand’s Paris Nights trilogy, each of which marries up a pastry chef or chocolatier heroine and a covert ops hero, including All for You and Chase Me.  This was the least successful of the three books for me and […]

Five Stars, but Still Some Issues Which is Why It’s Not a Favorite

The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen

June 28, 2019 by Classic Leave a Comment

Wow. What a great book by Dessen. I do enjoy her Young Adult books though the last couple I have read have been misses with me. This one is expertly written, but some things as the time line shifting back and forth and the mess with Saylor’s father prevented me from giving it five stars. I really enjoyed this one and hope that we see more from characters that she introduced to us in this one. “The Rest of the Story” follows 17 year old […]

Has anyone told you how dramatic you are?

One Day to Fall by Therese Beharrie

June 27, 2019 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I requested this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review at the same time that I requested Therese Beharrie’s Island Fling with the Tycoon. I’m so glad I was given both books. I follow Beharrie on Twitter, where she is funny and smart. One Day to Fall is so good. It’s out on August 12. Sophia is at the hospital with her mother and younger sister while her older sister is in labor. Parker is at the same hospital where his mother has been treated for injuries […]

99 Percent Mine

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

June 24, 2019 by Caitycat Leave a Comment

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game. It had that sexy back and forth, love-hate thing going. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a lot of fun, plus nicely steamy and romantic. So it comes as little surprise that I would be excited for Thorne’s newest book, 99 Percent Mine. The sad reality is that I’m not that into this book. Our heroine is Darcy Bennett, bartender and former award-winning photographer. Darcy is one of those rebellious young ladies […]

Much better than the cover made me expect

Whatever Life Throws at You by Julie Cross

June 21, 2019 by Malin Leave a Comment

From Goodreads: Seventeen-year-old Annie Lucas’s life is completely upended the moment her dad returns to the major leagues as the new pitching coach for the Kansas City Royals. Now she’s living in Missouri (too cold), attending an all-girls school (no boys), and navigating the strange world of professional sports. But Annie has dreams of her own—most of which involve placing first at every track meet…and one starring the Royals’ super-hot rookie pitcher. But nineteen-year-old Jason Brody is completely, utterly, and totally off-limits. Besides, her dad […]
