Dyckman, Schultz, Testa, Weyant, Miller, and a Jeralds create some books

Duckie & Snaps: We Cannot Be Friends by Ame Dyckman

Silly Boobies: A Love Story by Ame Dyckman

Love from Snoopy by Charles M. Schulz, adapted by Maggie Testa

December 11, 2024 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

It is that time of year when I don’t want anything too heavy to read. Oh, I’ll still read them, but I try to go on the lighter side when I can. I want something funny and/or light. I want something that will make my brain forget there are cranky, mean, rude people and things out there. I want Ame Dyckman! Now, I cannot have Ame Dyckman exactly, but I can have two of her books. First, I will mention Duckie & Snaps: We Cannot […]

Worth it for the story, not so much the pop-up part

A Charlie Brown Christmas: Pop-Up Edition by Charles M. Schulz

January 16, 2024 by Travis_J_Smith Leave a Comment

Yeah, I know I’m a little late on this one. My wife bought me this in December and I kept meaning to read through it, but silly, absent-minded me put it up on display with my other Peanuts Christmas decorations and forgot about it. As a result, it wasn’t until just a couple days ago that I finally read it, using our dog Winston as my stand-in for the human child we don’t have yet as I read it aloud. He was very interested in the […]

Peanuts fans across the galaxy

Snoopy Soars to Space: Peanuts Graphic Novels by Charles M. Schulz

December 28, 2022 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

The older I get the more I realize, The Peanuts comic is not always (or really) for kids. They have some terribly adult humor (Snoopy dresses as Lucy to show how tough and mean he can me), the characters are mean, themes are mature in some areas, and frankly, Snoopy? Not the loveable pup I remember as a kid. With that said, today’s kids can deal with more than I could and can. And they will be fine with Snoopy Soars to Space: Peanuts Graphic […]

Sister (and brother) Act

Lose the Blanket, Linus! Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz

December 26, 2019 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

I meant to post this before Christmas, yet the reason why I wanted to is just as valid for other times of the year as well. I love books that are in the “8 X 8” size. You know the type: they are square and usually about popular culture. Berenstain Bears, Peanuts, Fancy Nancy, Superheroes, current movies, you name it, it has probably been used. Why I am picking Lose the Blanket, Linus! Peanuts is because it was the one recently read from this genre […]
