The round headed buffoon goes on a series of holidays. (“It’s not a holiday!” – R. Gervais)

December 23, 2015 by TylerDFC Leave a Comment

Written during season one of the SKY1 show, An Idiot Abroad, this diary goes a bit more in depth for the various trips that make up the season. The concept for the first season of the show was to send eternally put upon Karl Pilkington around the world to see the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. Unlike the show, the diary goes in chronological order with Karl heading to Egypt to see the Great Pyramid (in the show he goes to China first). Along […]

Super spy Cinderella is tasked with stopping a killer in Fabletown

December 23, 2015 by TylerDFC Leave a Comment

The short lived Fables offshoot, Fairest, wrapped up at the same time as its parent title(insert Farewell link). Fairest focused on the side character women of Fables, primarily those traditionally known as the “princesses” and is collected in several volumes. There are also a few stand alone releases called Cinderella, that follow the exploits of Fabletown’s most badass spy. Fairest: In All the Land is not an issue compilation, but a single story told through a mixture of long form text and illustrations. Fables writer […]

Good news if you hate the movie!

December 23, 2015 by TylerDFC Leave a Comment

I have good news for you if you hated the movie adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens! Other than the title, the graphic novel and the movie have absolutely nothing in common. The characters are different, the story is different, the aliens are different, their motives are different, the weapons are different, it’s a completely different story. Makes you wonder why they adapted the movie at all if they were just going to throw the entire story out the window and start over. In the book […]

A Derek and Julie adventure!

December 22, 2015 by Malin 1 Comment

This is a novella in the Kate Daniels universe. It’ll cost you less than two dollars on Amazon. I would, however, recommend that you read at least a few of the books in that series before reading this, although it would probably work relatively well on its own merits. This review may, however, contain spoilers for some of the later books in the series, so if you haven’t read up to and including Magic Breaks and preferably Magic Shifts as well, proceed at your own […]

Should have been a novella

December 22, 2015 by Malin Leave a Comment

James, Viscount Matheson has newly come into the title and wishes to marry a suitable young lady as quickly as possible, seeing as his sister, now widowed, was embroiled in a terrible scandal due to her philandering husband and a very public scene with a mistress before he died. Matheson’s mother wishes him to restore the family reputation. So he is very pleased when he meets the quiet and pleasant Miss Louisa Oliver in the library at a society ball. Proposing to her after but […]

Powerful Batman story comes to a haunting conclusion

December 22, 2015 by TylerDFC Leave a Comment

Fresh off his trip to Metropolis in Volume 1, Batman has returned to Gotham determined to find answers. Someone is manipulating his old foes, and possibly his friends, like pieces on a chess board and Batman is determined to find out who. While Bruce, Selina, and renowned surgeon – and childhood friend – Tommy Elliot are attending an opera, Harley Quinn and her cohorts attack forcing Batman in to action. In the resulting chaos, Tommy is killed and Batman comes within a hair of choking […]
