Wonderful Book Goodies from Joemyjoe

December 10, 2016 by HasenKlub 1 Comment

A big thank you to Joemyjoe (with the assist from scootsa1000) for the CBR Book Exchange goodies! I’ve always loved how obsessively-detailed Patton Oswalt can become with his take on pop-culture, so when I saw this in a bookstore once, I knew immediately that I wanted to read it. And “21” is the only book in Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin series that I did not own. Thank you for completing my collection! I can’t wait to read both of them!

On a sea of love and a thankful heart

December 8, 2016 by KatSings 2 Comments

A great big thank you to Ashlie for my fabulous gifts! I’ve received Buffy: Demons of the Hellmouth, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley, and a bonus Hyperbole & a Half calendar! This year, despite some good things for me like getting to travel, there’s been a lot of terror, sadness, and darkness in the world. I’m incredibly grateful for this community, and the little bits of joy and togetherness we can bring each other, not just with gifts like this, but […]

CBR8 book exchange- thanks sister coyote

December 1, 2016 by Caitlin_D 3 Comments

Clearly Sister Coyote had a sixth sense. I was literally packing for a road trip when amazon delivered my gift exchange books. My poor husband will have to suffer through Oklahoma and Arkansas with little conversation now! Happy Christmahanukkakwanicaa to you all!

Book Exchange Goodies from ardaigle!!!

December 21, 2015 by Jelinas 4 Comments

Good God, how embarrassing. This is my first post this year, and I only posted once last year. I am bound and determined to do better next year. In any case, I am over the moon about participating in this year’s exchange (at least THAT tradition is going strong!!)!! I’ve been DYING to read The Handmaid’s Tale, and I was lucky enough to get paired with Atwood expert ardaigle in this year’s exchange!! She ALSO got me Julia Child’s classic, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, […]

CBR Gift Exchange HUZZAH! Thank you, Ale!

December 18, 2015 by Mrs. Julien 6 Comments

Ale sent me some lovely prezzies. Look! I am so excited that I may review something other than a kissing book for once and I have already bookmarked the dresses I will be having made when I get around to winning the lottery. There may have been (totally there was) some Kermit flailing especially when I looked through What People Wore When and saw how thorough it was. Oh joy! Oh rapture! Thank you to faintingviolet for organizing the exchange and thank you to Ale […]
