A cat and three girls decided to have a couple graphic novels made for them…

Cat & Cat Volume 1 Girl Meets Cat by Christophe Cazenove

Cat & Cat Volume 2: Cat Out of Water by Christophe Cazenove

Super Sisters by Christophe Cazenove

October 12, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

The team of Christophe Cazenove and William Maury have created the series Cat and Cat, the series Super Sisters, the (regular) series Sisters and the Sea Creatures series (which I have not found/read yet and has different illustrations). When reading Cat & Cat Volume 1 Girl Meets Cat and Cat & Cat Volume 2: Cat Out of Water, I did not realize Super Sisters was by the same people. And of course, the same happened with Super Sisters. I figured the similar feel to the […]

Abracadabra and Up Up and Away to adventure!

Cat & Cat V01 Adventures The Quest for Snacks by Susie Yi

July 20, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

cbr13bingo Travel (they travel to a magical world and I’d like to see a mermaid-cat, a fairy bunny and a lava dog!) “Dear Representative of this particular company. Would you be so kind as to send me these three reader copies of these books? Of course, if you cannot I would prefer book X as my first choice.” Or something like that was the email I sent to a rep of a publisher. I had asked for three books. And Cat & Cat V01 Adventures […]

People are Strange when you’re an alien

Strange Planet: The Sneaking, Hiding, Vibrating Creature by Nathan W. Pyle

July 7, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

cbr13bingo FAUNA  Strange Planet: The Sneaking, Hiding, Vibrating Creature is classic Nathan W. Pyle. This time around, instead of the more adult images of his comic strip, there is a more “kid friendliness” to the story as it is set in a “full length” picture book. This allows for all ages to enjoy this adventure. Our theme could have been seen in a strip but has been expanded for this presentation. The Offspring and The Lifegiver (two aliens of blue coloring and questionable attire wearing, […]

Soft and angsty romance

Best Laid Plans by Roan Parrish

February 13, 2021 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

There are three thing I know about a Roan Parrish book before I open it. It will be queerly m/m. It will be rich in emotion. The two main characters will be messes who make each other better people. My only consistent critique of her work is that I wish her characters went to therapy more often. In real life, I would insist on it, but in fiction I can sink into their emotional lives and become mushy with them. Rye Jannsen is at the […]

If you are getting another cat, read this book. Heck, if you have a cat, get this book.

Total Cat Mojo by Jackson Galaxy, Mikel Delgado

January 25, 2021 by Dome'Loki 11 Comments

In November, a friend of mine, who works with a feral cat rescue in LA (Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats), fostered a litter of kittens that included this charmer and we fell in love (lookit dat face 😍 ) I was initially staunchly against getting a third animal, we already have a 7 year old corgi (Wall-E) and a 2 1/2 year old cat (Sosuke), and the rule in our house has long been only two pets.  However, the pandemic had me reassessing […]
