I have to say that given the cover of this book, and the title, I was expecting the book to be more…tongue in cheek? But this book isn’t that. Rather than being a fun “backstory” of our fascination with butts, it’s a pretty straightforward gender and race studies critique of Western pop culture’s fascination with butts. No ifs ands or butts about it, I like to toot my own horn and say I like these science books!

Battle of the Butts: The Science Behind Animal Behinds by Jocelyn Rish

Does It Fart? A Kid's Guide to the Gas Animals Pass by Nick Caruso and Dani Rabaiotti

This review will give you two science books for the humorous side of your reader interested in nontraditional facts about animals. However, I focus more on the first as it was my favoirte of the two. Battle of the Butts: The Science Behind Animal Behinds by Jocelyn Rish and illustrated by David Creighton-Pester is a humorous and educational picture book that gives you the poop on farts, butts and the animals that have them. From killer posteriors to beach building tushes, it is all here. […]

Dildo cannons and silicone butts

October 24, 2017 by Lindzgrl 1 Comment

What The Hell Did I Just Read: A Novel of Cosmic Horror is the third in David Wong’s trilogy following the exploits of David Wong, his girlfriend Amy and his sidekick John—the first book was John Dies At The End and the second This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously Dude, Don’t Touch It. David Wong is the head editor of Cracked.com, the comedy website, and the comedic voice that made Cracked such a success is the foundation to all three books. I would describe […]
