Jessica Jones is back as the hard drinking, self-loathing private investigator. She is much more together than she was at the beginning of Volume 1, but get a couple of drinks in her and she will fuck inappropriate people. Jessica heads to a small town to investigate the disappearance of a teenage girl who is either a mutant, lied about being a mutant, or had rumors spread about her that she is a mutant. In this small town, mutants are the hated group du jour. […]

Patsy and Jessica, Starting Over

June 11, 2017 by Emmalita 1 Comment

In the Netflix Jessica Jones series, Patsy Walker and Jessica are best friends and foster sisters. In Patsy Walker, A.K.A Hellcat! and Jessica Jones: Alias, they don’t even know each other, yet. Despite the years, writers, artists and tones separating them, they have a lot in common. Beyond the superficial of both being super powered, they are two women with traumatic pasts trying to start over and move on. As you can tell from the cover, Patsy Walker, aka Hellcat is not gritty. It’s fun, but […]

Secrets Finally Revealed (About Freaking Time!)

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

Finally! We finally find out what the heck is going on. What caused the rift between Jessica. Why did she go to jail? Why is Misty acting like a stalking fool and talking crap about Jessica? Okay that last one we don’t get an answer to, but I was so over Misty that I am hoping Iron Fist shows up and is all so baby, are we not a thing anymore?  I have no idea what she is doing besides acting like Jessica cannot and […]

Still Chasing Down Secrets

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

Well at least we finally get to see who has captured Jessica and what they are up to. We still don’t know about the great rift that no one is giving any details about. But I still had issues with thinking that somehow Jessica has hit up the dark side or whatever was going on through issues #1 through now. We see that someone is out to get the Avengers and actually any superhero out there. A woman reveals to Jessica that she plans on […]

Even without David Tennant, these books get a big thumbs up.

July 25, 2016 by scootsa1000 2 Comments

Like everyone else in the world who has Netflix, my husband and I binged Jessica Jones last year. And we loved it. I’m not a huge Marvel person, so to me, that was a big deal. I’ve only seen one of the Avengers movies, I hated the two Thor movies that I saw, thought the first Captain America was a bore (although, I quite liked the second one), and have abstained almost completely from the X-Men ouevre. And I hated Daredevil on Netflix. Couldn’t even […]

Overstuffed and implausible, but still a fun read.

March 22, 2015 by narfna Leave a Comment

See, this is what happens when you read comics. Reading one inevitably leads to you reading another, and then another, and then oh you have to read this other one to understand that one, and oh then that one because it introduces these characters, and then oh that one because it was the start of the run, and blah blah blah, somehow you end up ordering seven new trade paperbacks in one afternoon, and then your library won’t let you order anymore. This is how […]
