Thank you, Borisanne!!

December 18, 2019 by cheerbrarian Leave a Comment

Very excited to receive these books from Borisanne! Both are in my Goodreads “to read” pile, and I’ll be honest, I read one Celeste Ng book (Everything I Never Told You) and wasn’t a fan; however, I was still interested in tackling the one that received such adoration, so I’m glad to have it in my hands as a catalyst. Plus, I’ll be able to talk about it with my book club pals as “Everything…” was a selection we read last year. Regarding American War, […]

Thanks scootsa1000!

December 16, 2019 by crystalclear Leave a Comment

Thank you, scootsa1000, for my fantastic books!  I’m a slacker and didn’t post this until now, but I received this right after Thanksgiving (from a fellow Black Friday shopper, I see!)  I try to put books on my wish list that I don’t think we have in my library (although looking now, we have both of these in somewhere in the system!)  I heard about Heads in Beds by Jacob Tomsky from reviews here (was it Blingle Bells, or ClaireBadger, or Bea Pants? I can’t […]

A Book Exchange Extravaganza From Bothari43

December 12, 2019 by Emmalita 4 Comments

Bothari43 has been very kind to me this Book Exchange season. She sent me three ebooks – Anna Zabo’s Syncopation (sorry about your search algorithm), Tasha Suri’s Empire of Sand, and Lois McMaster Bujold’s Beguilement (The Sharing Knife). In addition to that largess, I now have a lovely cephalopod print and a 5 year daily journal of questions and answers. I am so excited!

Merry Bookmas!

December 12, 2019 by KatSings Leave a Comment

A HUGE thank you to Caitlin for my incredible Book Exchange gifts! These books are such a good representation of me in this moment. The interactive Jenny Lawson book, the next Amanda Lovelace collection (my favorite contemporary poet) and one of Carrie Fisher’s incredible books – just in time for the final Skywalker Saga Star Wars film! I can’t wait to get reading on all of these. Happy holidays, y’all!

Thank you, crystalclear!!!

My book exchange buddy got me two things I’ve never heard of, but I’m so excited to add them to my TBR list! Thank you so much, crystalclear! I can’t wait to investigate this story of haunted palaces and lesbian necromancers (Gideon the Ninth, Tamsyn Muir), and super-students on their first mission (Aurora Rising, Amie Kaufman). Looking forward to them both!
