CBR17 Holiday Book Exchange Sign-Up

November 20, 2025 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Sign up is closed! Each year Cannonball Read holds a (completely voluntary) Holiday Book Exchange, and we’re happy to continue the tradition this year. It’s a lovely part of our community here at CBR and a great way to get to know a fellow Cannonballer a little bit better. If you are able to join us in the fun of sending books we are excited for you to join our bookish end of year celebration. Whether you have posted zero reviews or more than 500, […]

Book Exchange Rules! and food mysteries are mostly fun.

The Kamogawa Food Detectives by Hisashi Kashiwai

January 5, 2025 by CoffeeShopReader Leave a Comment

Yay for book exchange and holiday travel reading! There was no note, so I’m not sure who to thank, but still, thanks! Nailed that one. Cozy has been having a moment (a trend I’m mostly down with), and The Kamogawa Food Detectives is sort of cozy, but that label doesn’t quite fit. It’s a food based mystery series (in this case, almost a sequence of sort of related short stories; but also there is a sequel) featuring a father-daughter detective agency restaurant, in which the […]

Holiday Book Exchange

December 31, 2024 by LittlePlat Leave a Comment

Oooh, one last post I need to make before the year ends! Thanks you so much for you chosen book, KatSings! I missed voting for the Hugo awards the year. This went up, so I’m completely missed it. Now I have the opportunity to tackle it in the new year!

Thank you KRussell!

December 26, 2024 by Emmalita 2 Comments

Thank you so much, KRussell! What a lovely selection! I don’t think you can tell from the photo, but the stories in the anthology contributed by my favorite authors are flagged. Very thoughtful. I made a goofy, pleased noise when I noted that. I feel like I’m going to be apologizing to Canadians a lot in the next few years, so let me kick that off by saying, “I’m sorry the US Postal Service is still not accepting packages to Canada. 😭”

Happy Holidays!

December 20, 2024 by Jake 1 Comment

Very grateful to my cannonballer for my gifts! Margo’s Got Money Troubles isn’t the kind of thing I normally read but it came highly recommended and I thought it was worth a shot. And I’m happy to have a republished work from the legendary Cornell Woolrich added to my Hard Case Crime collection. Thank you so much! Happy holidays!

Book Mail from Malin!

December 15, 2024 by Kit Moonstar 1 Comment

Thank you so much to Malin for my lovely gifts!  I’m looking forward to reading both of them.  I’ve heard of The House In the Cerulean Sea but haven’t had a chance to read it myself.  The library hold list for it its ridiculous.  The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy wasn’t on my radar at all, and it looks like it’s going to be quite fun.    I’m going to enjoy diving into both of those.  Thank you again, Malin, and happy holidays!
