How to Steal a Galaxy by Beth Revis

Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis

I was having a bit of a reading slump – nothing sounded good, and I returned several books to the library unread, which is a bit out of character for me. I had figured, though, that since I had such a fun time with Full Speed to a Crash Landing by Beth Revis last month that her brand of space heists in novella format might be what I needed to jumpstart my oomph. Then we got word that Bothari43 had passed, and I knew that […]

“There’s some cursing. A lot. It’s kind of impressive.”

Full Speed to a Crash Landing by Beth Revis

To begin at the end, when I finished this novella, I immediately put in requests at the library for the second and third books in the Chaotic Orbits series because I enjoyed it that much and was very interested to see where the story would go next.   If I were to start at the beginning, I would tell you that following my enjoyment of Olivia Waite’s Murder by Memory I went on the hunt for books with a similar space mystery vibe because I […]

Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis

Hi! I’m going to need you all to go read this series so that I can get more books! I need a fully radicalized (corrupted? No, he can’t be corrupted, he must be radicalized) Rian. I need a Strom Fedor meltdown. I need more of Ada stealing things right under everyone’s noses. Maybe Strom Fedor can also die in a cheese explosion. I just need more stories in the Chaotic Orbits series. To clarify, no Last Chance to Save the World does not end on […]

How to Steal a Galaxy by Beth Revis

After seeing Beth Revis talk about mocking a particular billionaire in her new sci-fi heist series, I saw that the Audible sale made it very very affordable. So I bought it, listened to it, and then bought the second book on sale, too. Sadly, the third book, Last Chance to Save the World, isn’t out until April. The story is great. The primary narrator, Dara Rosenberg, is a delight. The secondary narrator, David Bendena perfectly expresses his character’s frustration in each book’s epilogue. I highly […]

Night of the Witch: Book One by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis

January 27, 2024 by The Chancellor Leave a Comment

Night of the Witch by Sara Raasch My rating: 4 of 5 stars Set during the witch hunts of the late 16th century in Trier, Germany, “Night of the Witch” is the story of Friedrike “Fritzi” and Otto Ernst. One, a witch, the other, a witch hunter. While on opposite sides of the hunt, both are trying to save family members and need each other to accomplish their goals. The story’s setting centers around Trier, although there are glimpses of Fritzi’s village. I was fascinated […]
