When I Kill You by B.A. Paris

When I Kill You by B.A. Paris

November 24, 2025 by Classic Leave a Comment

Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not impact my rating or review.  I have to say that parts of this story didn’t really work such as the unknown narrator ending each excerpt with ‘when I kill you’, and the lack of chemistry between Nell and Alex. That said, I couldn’t put it down. I won’t lie though, I started to just skim the excerpts by the unknown narrator because I was tired of them. When I Kill You follows a woman […]

The Therapist

The Therapist by B.A. Paris

July 1, 2022 by Classic Leave a Comment

Good grief, this book at times is unintentionally funny. The main character of Alice really does need a therapist, or at least some common sense. Most of this book was her doing her amateur deductions about the neighbors and ignoring the big old red flag that is in her face. This was just an okay thriller that will pass the time if you are in desperate need for a beach read. “The Therapist” follows couple Alice and Leo who have moved into a gated community […]

Pandemic Bingo Square: The Therapist

The Therapist by B.A. Paris

October 8, 2021 by msvreadsbooks Leave a Comment

I’m using this as my PANDEMIC bingo square.  I’ve read several of B.A. Paris’s books: Behind Closed Doors, The Breakdown, Bring Me Back…. And I generally enjoy them. This one is also generally enjoyable.  The plot: Alice and Leo have been dating for a little over a year when they decide to move to The Circle – an exclusive, gated neighborhood in London with 12 houses (kind of like a clock). Alice is surprised when Leo gets the house for a very reasonable price given […]

A great read so long as you suspend disbelief

Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris

May 30, 2020 by pixifer Leave a Comment

There are different kinds of books. Good books, terrible books, guilty pleasures, etc. I don’t really care if a book is good or bad so long as I enjoy it. This book was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it, but I can’t call it a good book because the reveal was such a cliche.  Finn and Layla have a passionate, tempestuous relationship. While on vacation, they get in an argument and Layla disappears. Finn is the prime suspect, but with no […]

Another creepy B. A. Paris story!

Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris

December 10, 2019 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

My friend and I got on a bit of a B.A. Paris kick this fall.  We read her first two books super quickly.  They weren’t a series or anything, just freaky books written by the same author.  This is the third one that we read.  I think I liked the other two more, but this one was still really good. We start this story with a flashback.  Finn and Layla are on vacation, and they’re driving home.  Finn goes to the bathroom at a rest […]

Would you have stopped? Would it have made a difference?

The Breakdown by B. A. Paris

September 28, 2019 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Imagine  you’re driving down a super dark, windy road, full of twists and turns.  There are dips and bumps, and it’s raining.  The trees feel like they’re closing in on you, but you see headlights up ahead!  Almost too late, you realize the car is stopped, and you have to swerve around them.  Is the person stranded?  Do you stop and help them?  You don’t want to get out in the rain…   This is the premise of The Breakdown.  The main character – Cass […]
